Week 1 – Knife Crime: Real Consequences
Discussion Questions:
- What surprised you the most in the video?
- What decision started things going wrong?
- Who else is affected apart from the person involved?
Optional Reflection: One thing young people often underestimate about consequences.
Week 2 – Fear, Protection & Choice
Discussion Questions:
- Why do some young people feel unsafe?
- Does carrying a weapon actually reduce danger?
- What safer alternatives exist?
Optional Reflection: List safe alternatives to carrying weapons.
Week 3 – Prison Reality (No Glamour)
Discussion Questions:
- What stood out about prison life?
- What freedoms are lost?
- Was it worth it?
Optional Reflection: One freedom people take for granted.
Week 4 – Anger, Ego & Reputation
Discussion Questions:
- What triggered the situation?
- Where could it have stopped?
- How does pride or reputation affect decisions?
Optional Reflection: One warning sign before anger takes over.
Week 5 – Leaving the Cycle
Discussion Questions:
- What helped this person change?
- Who supported them?
- What made change difficult?
Optional Reflection: One positive support young people need.
Week 6 – Futures & Hope
Discussion Questions:
- What future paths were lost or protected?
- What does success really mean?
- What choices protect future opportunities?
Optional Reflection: Write one personal strength you already have.
Safeguarding & Recording (Mandatory)
- Pause or stop content if students become dysregulated
- No naming real people, gangs, or local incidents
- Record attendance
- Log engagement briefly
- Report any disclosures immediately via safeguarding system
